This page contains descriptions and links to software I've written for OS9, OSX, Windows, and UNIX.

My Kingdom for a Label

Have you ever wanted to print just one label from a sheet of labels? That's what this app will do. It prints the same text (that you enter) on one or more labels from a sheet of sticky labels. If you need to print to the third label down in the second column, that's what this app will do. Current version (.5b) is Postcard-ware; if you use it, please snailMail me a (humorous) postcard of your hometown. Current version supports OSX 10.3.3 although it is probable that it will run in 10.2.x. There may be OS9 and Windows versions eventually.

The file is "zipped" which you may "unzip" simply by double-clicking in the OSX Finder (or using Unstuffit).

By the way, the "5160" icon is an homage to the Avery 5160 label which is, of course, 1" x 2 5/8".

Cost: Postcardware - if you find the software useful, email me a scan of a humorous postcard about your town. (If you find a note in the .zip file indicating that this is shareware, ignore it. I'm not supporting this software any longer.)

HP Comm Killer

HP's multi-function PSC units have a problem when you unplug or power off the unit and then power it up again. This sometimes causes the HP Communications application (a "faceless" program) to "hang" so you can't initiate scanning. Unfortunately, you can't force-quit the application directly because it doesn't show up in the list of running apps. HP Comm Killer is designed to make the application quit so that the process of scanning can re-commence. Cost: Free

Editable ListBox Example

I started using RealBasic simply because Revolution has no implementation of a multicolumn editable "listbox" that would act like a spreadsheet without eight miles of code. This is my first RB project that is only of use if you're a novice and want to know how to make a multi-column listbox react to mouse clicks, the Tab key and the Return key in a logical manner. The project is not encrypted nor is it "runtime". It's totally open for your examination and further modification. Please note that I would appreciate your eMailing me a copy of the project file with any modifications you make in order to provide additional functionality. I'll post the updated file here. Cost: Free
